BMC Kirpi

9 years ago, my brother Basit Baig and I worked on this BMC Kirpi for a tactical vehicle simulator. It’s still one of those projects that sticks with me because of the technical constraints we had to meet.

Basit Baig handled the 3D modeling, and I took care of the UVs, PBR texturing, and the final presentation. To keep the performance smooth in the engine, I managed to pack everything onto a single atlas material. In the simulator world, that kind of optimization is everything you need the realism, but you can’t afford to lose a single frame.

I’ve been deep in the simulator and XR industry for over 12 years now. If you have a project coming up that needs high-fidelity mechanical models that are actually optimized for real-time use, feel free to reach out. I'm happy to help.

I'll put the link to the texturing timelapse in the comments if anyone wants to see the breakdown.
